The Zombie Killin' Business

Danger 50,000 Volts: Zombies, with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost

Ladies and gentlemen, I have just had the opportunity to view a video led by the documentarian Nick Frost as he interviews the "zombie killin' " Dr. Russell Fell (aka Simon Pegg). I will admit that I was a bit skeptical about certain statements and segments of this interview, but I do guarantee there is advice worth considering, and a bit of humor on the side.

[OUTBREAK PREPARATION]

Now, the fist bit of advice I want to mention is Dr. Fell's comment about how one's being "fat is no good". I don't have the precise quote, but that's the gist of his statement (directed towards Mr. Frost). Now, while I claim no innocence in the sloth department, I fully agree with the position. I will freely admit that I'm certain I'll be one of the first to go, as I haven't been making it to the gym too often, and I've got jack s*** for endurance. I might make it a few blocks, or up a hill or two, but the Z bastards would certainly catch up before long. My advice, that I have yet to follow, is to get off your ass, start running, and start lifting.

[ZOMBIE IDENTIFICATION]

Another topic Dr. Fell comments on is "Zombie Indentification". He points out the rather obvious indicators, such as rotting flesh, missing an arm or a chin, but he also recommends calling out if uncertain. Tell the subject to stop and identify themselves. Now, you'll certainly have to take your circumstances into account (you shouldn't be alerting other zombies to your presence if you're in precarious position), but if you aren't in dire straights, taking an extra moment for identification might save you from needlessly murdering other uninfected survivors.

[ZOMBIE PHYSIOLOGY]

A topic of interest is put to Dr. Fell regarding the question of whether zombies have an increased ability to "smell" out human blood and organs. He is quick to laugh off the notion and states that it is nothing more than a myth. Though I do not believe this possibility can be completely disregarded, I am of a similar opinion. While I certainly would not be shocked to learn that zombies can move at a pace faster than a drunken shuffle, I don\'t believe super sensory ability is very likely.

It would take me pages and pages to go though all of the video's points of interest, but sadly, I do not have the time. I will leave you with those brief few tidbits, but I highly recommend viewing this film, as there is much more to be considered.

Finally, I must give my compliments to everyone who aided in the production of this video, it was entertaining, and quite informative. This video offers information that is invaluable to the layman, yet still informative to the experienced. Thank you for your efforts towards a better, zombie free world.
